ROI and Gwinnett Medical Center enter a partnership to secure quality support and reliability of legacy systems during an EMR transition.
ROI Healthcare Solutions, LLC has been awarded a contract by one of Atlanta’s highly reputable hospitals, Gwinnett Medical Center, to provide 24 / 7 / 365 support of their legacy clinical, ambulatory, and ancillary systems during their migration to a new, integrated EMR solution.
The 18-month professional services contract is designed for ROI to provide a range of IT services led by Project Managers and application-specific Team Leads, within Gwinnett’s facility. Scope of services include: program management, application management, on-call support, break/fix services, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, testing, reporting, and small service request fulfillment.
ROI has been providing advisory, implementation, support, and staffing services in healthcare for 18 years with strong leadership, leading edge methodologies, and deep vendor and business expertise in clinical, financial, technology operations. Throughout engagement planning and service delivery, ROI has demonstrated a strong commitment to relationship cultivation, flexibility, on-time and on-budget delivery, and quality to give Gwinnett the confidence in ROI to provide reliable and efficient support of legacy systems, while the business focuses on modernizing their EMR technology.
While staffing and comprehensive legacy support were both options for Gwinnett during supplier evaluations, key stakeholders have proven to value a high level of service and technological stability over a pure staffing model. ROI’s proposed methodology encompasses the full cycle of: requirements definitions, staffing, repeatable onboarding processes, activation of services, testing, success measurement, decommissioning, and knowledge transfer. ROI’s leadership and supporting staff possess deep vendor and industry experience, which creates a seamless and tightly integrated team that serves as an extension of the Gwinnett organization.

Our best practice methodologies guide our activities and our customers are referenceable to validate the quality of our work and partnership.
In 1999, ROI was founded in Atlanta, Georgia, as a healthcare IT project management firm. As the healthcare industry evolved and matured, it expanded its suite of services to include ERP engagements (specifically, Infor/Lawson), additional healthcare IT services (legacy systems support and Horizon Post Sunset Support), and staffing for various management and technical roles.
Over the past several years, due to the rise of EHR/EMR implementations and the quest to create comprehensive patient record access, ROI has delivered formal, comprehensive legacy support services via multi-year engagements. Overall, our Legacy Support team has supported over 100+ different applications at various customers throughout the US.
The mission of ROI’s legacy support services is to provide our customers with flexible, cost-efficient support services using repeatable processes that are customized to address every phase of the legacy application support lifecycle. ROI’s approach is guided by our proven Legacy Support methodology that begins with the initial planning/staffing and transition of responsibility, through the delivery of support services, and the eventual decommission. ~35% of our current business comes from our Legacy Support services business.
